Boot worship keeps the submissive at floor level and makes the footwear the centre of the scene. Licking the shaft and the sole, cleaning mud off with the tongue, kissing the toe, being stepped on, or simply staying down there while the dominant stands: the acts are simple, and the ritual around them is what the category is really about.

The gear shapes the tone. Tall leather boots and riding boots read as formal and dominant, especially when they are being polished or inspected. Heels change the geometry entirely — the submissive works around a smaller contact point, and standing still in them becomes part of the dominant's performance. Some clips are pure service, with the boots being cleaned to a standard; others use the same setup to humiliate.
